Alphabet doesn't have a patent on sustainable building materials, awnings, or improved public transit.

Those things are actually great. So let's throw out the company whose ulterior motives are so obviously not in the best interest of the city and just do the nice things ourselves.

Google's plans for Toronto are bad enough, but the approach that they have taken to getting their way should be another bright red flag.

That feeling when you're looking at graphs of the distribution of room extremities (room fragmentation) on the matrix.org homeserver and discover they inexplicably pulse with an ~8 minute period...

OCTOPUSCAMERA: a pro digital cinema camera. Powered by Linux!

Supports up to 5K full frame recording, weighs less than 1kg, and is powered by Linux. It's a rather ambitious device and they aim to be shipping in 2020.

Recording is hardware accelerated using Intel's VA-API up to 10-bit HEVC. Image processing on the camera is done using OpenCL with the Beignet driver stack.

Are there any folks involved in distributed communication platforms like the or ?

I'd be interested in connecting with anyone with a foot in both OER and distributed service platforms.

Anyone out there?

CryptPad has had a surge of visitors this week-end from Hong-Kong (the purple in the weekly stats here). We wonder if it’s related to the Hong Kong massive protests. CryptPad continues to grow fast ! #zeroknowledge #encryptedcollaboration #cryptpad

Not work related, but I'm doing some fun stuff with high power devices.

Well, upgrading to v2.9 was quite a journey. Apparently something was broken in my rbenv install which resulted in a broken version of ruby 2.6.1.

It broke masto but also didn't leave any meaningful clues in the logs.

Eventually had to nuke everything and install/migrate from a fresh state. ;___;

This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken.

Fudgesicle, an imperial stout from Untitled Art and Yazoo coming in at 12%, and the Full Mechanics 1/100 scale Barbatos Lupus Rex
.

Still not sure how I feel about postmarketOS being built on Alpine, but I guess I can't deny that I'm excited to see real linux mobile options.
