#JohnOlivier had a segment on #misinformation on non-English #language|s. youtube.com/watch?v=l5jtFqWq5i

Highly recommended, especially for people interested in #translation|s.

Main points:
* #Facebook 90% of its monthly users are non-English, but only 13% of fact checking.
* Major fact checking sites are mostly English.

* He mentioned Vietnamese Social movements trying to help:
- movementhub.org/resource/the-i
- the-interpreter.org
- vietfactcheck.org

Likely similar group for other languages.

Those who understand how important right-to-repair is to the agriculture sector will know how important projects like this are!

Data creation is exploding. Half of all the selfies and useless files people refuse to delete were created in the last two years alone. At the current rate, the world's data storage capacity will be overtaken by 2024 and we can't produce more fast enough. It will be nothing short of a catastrophe: data shortages, data rationing, storage black markets.
I don't know about you people, but I don't wanna live in a world where some hard sci-fi dystopian tropes don't come true.

TIL that iphones regularly transmit the Mac addresses of devices attached to the same WiFi network to Apple. In addition to their geographical location of course.

So essentially you can be tracked across all locations where an iPhone is near you (and you haven't disabled your WiFi).

Wow.

Wow, I wish all forums had this little feature!

Yeah, every post has a timestamp, but this makes it so much more natural to read and parse.

I do not need to order this

I seem to have it in my cart and I seem to be paying for it

"But Truck you don't need another c64 type thing" "yes but this also does Spectrum with another core" "But truck you already have a thing that does that" "Yes this has a keyboard and look a floppage" "also it's 666 euros I know they're trolling me but"

I have no idea where I'm putting this in the house but oh well

(Also I met the MEGA people multiple times, first at Assembly, then at Breakpoint/Revision, they're awesome)

We have a new BLE fix!
#InfiniTime 1.6 "Ice Apple" fixes that issues that would crash the BLE connectivity after ~18h of uptime!

Housing is a human right and a human necessity.

Housing is also the designated path to intergenerational wealth accumulation and class mobility (it used to be housing *and* labor rights, but America got rid of those in the Reagan years).

Say what you will about the traditional banking industry, but I've never accidentally paid an irreversible $23 million dollar fee.

That little demo clip is pretty darn compelling…

Turned out to be really interesting in conecpt but still very beta.

That said, as soon as it had ( a ) tabs and ( b ) a configurable homepage I think I'd begin using it!
